Landscape Designer Assistant
Education Requirements are minimum 2-year degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent topic or 4 years of “in field” experience. Desired qualifications include a Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field of study. Must be proficient in landscape architecture vocabulary, technical drafting and graphic design programs: AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, ArcGIS, GoogleEarth GIS, or similar products (Identify program and proficiency level). Ability to express design concepts through hand sketching and computer rendering, prepare basic landscape architecture illustrative materials including color renderings, scale drawings, and specifications. Understanding of and ability to draw plan, section, elevation and perspective. Working knowledge, understanding of, and interest in drought tolerant, native and edible landscape design, construction installation, and maintenance. Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate and work remotely. Exhibit initiative and the ability to work with little supervision. High level of energy and positive attitude. Exhibit accuracy, attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work synergistically with other studio designers. Self-motivation in and enthusiasm toward solving unique and relevant design challenges. Capacity for creative and critical thinking. Attitude of ownership toward work produced.
Read and follow plans, material lists, guidelines and apply necessary timelines. Purchase materials for all landscape field operations. Complete personnel daily time log for work completed. Enter job data into computer. Assesses job costing and communicates with management. Order and schedule material deliveries to landscape construction projects. Manage inventory. Conduct regular tailgate safety meetings. Supervise and lead one to ten employees and be able to set priorities. Develop and maintain motivated, effective crews. Fulfill all regular and advanced installation/construction duties including project layout and complete required paperwork in a timely manner. Organize, supervise, lead, and train employees to complete projects within established guidelines and time frame. Advanced landscape construction skills. Able to identify common plants by common and botanical names. Be certified in CPR and First Aid.
Landscape Maintenance Novice
Possess willingness to learn new skills. Wear appropriate work boots, uniform shirts ascribed by company policy. Familiar with company manual and policies contained and set forth, include safety guidelines/standards. Use assigned tools and equipment in proper/safe manner. Assist loading and unloading work trucks and trailers. Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body. Be able to reach over head. Be able to work in various positions including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 50# of weight frequently throughout assigned work day. Be able to bend and stoop repeatedly throughout assigned workday to complete assigned job tasks. Maintain physical fitness level necessary to complete assigned job tasks. Reliable transportation to job site/office. Report to work at the assigned time and assigned location, perform duties as assigned.
